We are so grateful to our North Queensland community who have supported our Townsville clinics and been part of our journey over the last 12 months. Without you we could not have helped make a difference to our wonderful community!
Thank you to the local news networks and radio broadcasters for their interest in the Melanoma March, Skin Cancer Action Week, World Cancer Day and important skin cancer research work we are involved in.

We greatly appreciate all our patients that featured with us on national TV and local news through the year helping to highlight the dangers of the sun, new life saving treatments for advanced melanoma, the role of high-resolution full body total body photography and our skin cancer research studies.

Here are a few pivotal moments in 2022 we are proud to look back on:

• We partnered with Glenn Mintern (Minty) to bring the Melanoma March back to Townsville. Thank you to all our patients, their friends and families and the broader community who took part in the Melanoma March or sponsored a participant so helping to raise funds to transform the treatment for advanced melanoma and save lives.

• Deborah Hutton visited Townsville and met with a number of our patients who then featured on her 7 News Skin Cancer Journey documentary that aired in May. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet Deborah and her team and help support her in increasing skin cancer awareness nationally.

• We were delighted to be invited to join the National Image Trial which will hopefully drive Medicare rebates for full body photography for high-risk skin cancer patients. Recruitment to this trial is drawing to a close within the next 6 weeks, so if you are interested in taking part, please email reception@skinrepair.net.au or call us as soon as possible. Eligible participants must have had a melanoma within the last 2 years, have a good number of moles and not have been monitored using total body photography in the past 2 years. They will get complimentary automated digital high resolution full body photography either on enrolment, or at the conclusion of the trial in 2 years’ time.

• We celebrated the launch of a free skin cancer educational program for non-clinical professionals working with skin (such as a hairdressers, massage therapist or beauticians) during our National Skin Cancer Action week in November. If you are interested in knowing more, please click here. Course available until 31st January 2023.

Proud as we are to be increasing community awareness of skin cancer, you and your family are our inspiration and our reason for doing what we do.

Thank you for helping us welcome 2,313 new patients to our Townsville clinics, perform 13,432 skin checks, treat 6,394 skin cancers and excise 368 melanomas in 2022.

We wish you and your family a safe and happy festive season and look forward to welcoming you back in 2023.
