Dr Helena Rosengren is the director of both the Skin Repair Skin Cancer and Skinovation Cosmetic Clinics. With her passionate backing, the clinics are proud to support skin cancer awareness programs as well as mental health and wellbeing initiatives for teenagers in the local community.
Having completed general practice training in the UK Dr Rosengren immigrated to Australia in 1994 and has worked in skin cancer medicine since 2004 establishing the Skin Repair Skin Cancer Clinic in 2009. She is a fellow of both the Royal Australian College of General Practice and the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. With a keen interest in skin cancer research, she has published a number of skin cancer research papers in medical journals and is the chair of the research committee for the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. Passionate about teaching, Dr Rosengren is a senior lecturer at James Cook University, provides in-house extended skills training in skin cancer medicine for doctors, teaches at skin cancer workshops all over Australia and is invited to deliver lectures at skin cancer conferences overseas. Her knowledge and expertise won her a seat on the working party that developed the new skin cancer guidelines for Australia published in 2019.
With encouragement from patients for holistic cosmetic care (given her eye for detail and engaging manner) Dr Rosengren opened the Skinovation Cosmetic Clinic in 2017. This clinic provides niche services with an emphasis on natural-looking cosmetic outcomes.
