Dr Helena Rosengren is the director of both the Skin Repair Skin Cancer and Skinovation Cosmetic Clinics. With her passionate backing, the clinics are proud to support skin cancer awareness programs as well as mental health and wellbeing initiatives for teenagers in the local community.

Having completed general practice training in the UK Dr Rosengren immigrated to Australia in 1994 and has worked in skin cancer medicine since 2004 establishing the Skin Repair Skin Cancer Clinic in 2009. She is a fellow of both the Royal Australian College of General Practice and the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. With a keen interest in skin cancer research, she has published a number of skin cancer research papers in medical journals and is the chair of the research committee for the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. Passionate about teaching, Dr Rosengren is a senior lecturer at James Cook University, provides in-house extended skills training in skin cancer medicine for doctors, teaches at skin cancer workshops all over Australia and is invited to deliver lectures at skin cancer conferences overseas. Her knowledge and expertise won her a seat on the working party that developed the new skin cancer guidelines for Australia published in 2019.

With encouragement from patients for holistic cosmetic care (given her eye for detail and engaging manner) Dr Rosengren opened the Skinovation Cosmetic Clinic in 2017. This clinic provides niche services with an emphasis on natural-looking cosmetic outcomes.

Dr Robert Teunisse

Dr Robert Teunisse DMed, FRACGP, AMC, CertSCCA

Dr Teunisse was born in The Netherlands and completed his medical degree and General Practice training in Leuven, Belgium. After arriving in Australia in 2006 he worked in general practice attaining fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Increasingly interested in skin cancer medicine he went on to complete an advanced certificate of skin cancer medicine and also of dermoscopy and is an accredited doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.

Dr Teunisse has worked at the Skin Repair Skin Cancer Clinic since 2014. He enjoys spending a couple of days each month in the Gulf delivering outreach skin cancer services in remote areas. As a result he became interested in flying and now holds a private pilot’s licence.

Dr Escalin Selvaraj

Having graduated overseas, Dr Escalin Selvaraj moved to Australia in 2008. She initially worked in several public hospitals in Sydney before moving to rural general practice in New South Wales. Here she undertook training to attain fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and developed a keen interest in skin cancer management.

Dr Selvaraj went on to complete further training with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia and is now an accomplished accredited skin cancer doctor holding both the advanced certificate of dermoscopy and the advanced certificate of medicine and surgery. Continuing to study skin cancer diagnosis and management, Dr Selvaraj is now working towards becoming an accomplished fellow of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.

Dr Ben Tan

Dr Ben Tan has been a doctor for two decades, with a dedicated focus on skin cancer medicine and surgery for the past several years. He has obtained advanced qualifications in skin cancer from the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. He undertook further training with Prof Cliff Rosendahl and Dr Helena Rosengren – two doctors internationally renowned for their significant contributions to skin cancer medicine. Dr Tan’s areas of special interest include early-stage melanoma detection, and ear and facial surgery.

Dr Tan is also actively involved in audits and research studies on melanoma, wound healing, and post-surgical scarring. Over the years he has mentored doctors-in-training and has co-authored and published studies on post-surgical outcomes. He is passionate about skin cancer medicine because it makes a real impact on patients’ lives, and he looks forward to welcoming you for a comprehensive skin check in Townsville.

Dr Zac Miles

Having completed his medical degrees at The University of Queensland in 2003, Dr Zac Miles has two decades’ experience in medicine across both general practice and hospital settings, and as a Senior Aviation Medical Officer with the Royal Australian Air Force.

Dr Miles holds advanced qualifications in skin cancer medicine and dedicates his practice to skin cancer diagnosis and treatment in Townsville. He has also been the team physician for professional football and basketball teams.

Dr Michelle White

MBBS, FRACGP, Diploma Skin Cancer Surgery, Cert Dermoscopy, Cert Aesthetic Medicine

Having completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at James Cook University in Townsville in 2005, Dr Michelle White has worked in rural and remote areas across the South Pacific, NSW and QLD. Since 2008, she has integrated skin cancer checks and treatments into her day-to-day general practice as she is highly passionate about skin health. Her extensive experience is backed by advanced university-assured qualifications in dermoscopy and skin cancer surgery.

Dr White also has specialist training in aesthetic procedures for medical skin conditions and cosmetic dermatology. She enjoys tailoring personal and realistic treatment plans for her patients to help achieve radiant, natural-looking skin.
